Can you give samples of what you have and what you want?

You asking how to remove digits? In an adjacent column, enter this formula:

    =LEFT(A1,5)

Copy that down the whole set and your new zip codes are seen. Copy that column, then EDIT > PASTE SPECIAL > VALUES to remove the formulas.

(obviously edit the A1 reference to your actual first zip code)

Wouldn't it be easier to just reformat the column as a number, with zero decimal points? Just a thought, and it worked for me.

It would if it worked, but it would round, which would change the last digit in many cases.
