Count if formula

Hi All

I am having real trouble trying to get this to work.

I thought i was fine with my basic count if and sum if formulaes however this takes it more.

I have a cell that reads date and time (this can not be changed becase this is exported from a webpage and when pasted into excel produces a cell like below

11/05/2012 09:00-09.32

Each cell thereafter changes the time and then after say (maybe 100 entries) the date changes to the next date.

I am looking to sum the range of one column by looking if this column contains the date?

The more I write the more confusing this is sounding .

Please find workbook attached which shows what im trying to explain. with two basic formulaes (which I can then amend for the corressponding repeats.
