    Conditional formatting

Im trying to figure out if there is a way to do conditional formatting for a range of cells based on one cell. For example, lets say I've got a row of numeric data and the last cell is the average of that row. How would I get the entire row to reflect a certain color regardless of any one (or more) cell based on the criteria in the last cell??

Can you list what your conditions are?

    Re: Conditional formatting

They would be less than or equal to 9.299=red; between 9.300 and 9.699=yellow; greter than or equal to 9.700=green. So if thats the formula for the cell containing the average I would need the entire row to highlight the corresponding color regardless as to individual cells within the row outside of those conditions.

    Re: Conditional formatting

Assuming you last column entry for row 2 is L2.

highlight row 2 > clicking on conditional formatting > select New Rule

Click on "Use a formula to determine which cells to format"

    put this formula in:

Please Login or Register to view this content.
Next, click "Format..." > select fill cell color RED.

Repeat for next condition, on the same row,

    put in formula:

Please Login or Register to view this content.
    Format color to Yellow.

    For last condition:

Please Login or Register to view this content.
    format color green

Once you have all 3 conditions on row 2, highlight row 2, click on format painter, paste the formatting down the rows. That should do it.
