SUMIF with formulas in the criteria range instead of numbers or text

I would like to be able to use the SUMIF function when the criteria range contains formula results instead of actual numbers or text. It will work fine if I use "paste values" to convert the criteria range to actual values, but I would like to retain the intact formulas.

    Many thanks in advance!

There's no reason why you can't do that. SUMIF, like most other functions, reads the values regardless of whether they are generated by formulas or not - I assume you tried and it didn't work, can you give an example of precisely what you want to do....or post a workbook with a sample?
