    Question Trying to display negative time

    Hi,
    I need to be able to compare someones time over a distance against a standard and display is as a +/- against it.

    Anyone know if this is possible?

    You can only display true negative times if you use "1904 data system" - to set that use File > Options > Advanced and scroll down to "When calculating this workbook".

    Note that setting that option will change any dates you already have in your workbook

    Two solutions.

    1) Change to 1904-based time, as described in the hyperlink.

    2) Work around that by taking the absolute difference, and then outputting as a text string with a - sign in front. Since it's a text string it will look exactly like you want but excel will no longer consider it numbers it can do math on.
