How to get a third dependent drop down list to work?

    Hello,

I am trying to work out how to make 3 drop down lists work together. I have got it so the first two drop-downs work, but cant work out how to get the third to work with the other two.

Im trying to work out printing prices depending on wether the paper used is the Shops own paper or Customers paper, the print type required, and finally the paper size (A4 or A3).

Can anyone have a look at my spreadsheet, there are two sheets, one called Selection, the other called Prices. The three choices are made on the selection sheet.

    Cheers

    Tom

    Tom,

From what I could tell, the drop-downs aren't dependent at all. Regardless of who's paper it is, all the print types will be available to choose from. And regardless of the combination of who's paper it is and selected print type, both paper sizes will always be available to choose from.

Attached is a modified version of your posted workbook. The drop-downs have been populated in 'Selections'!B1:B3 using named ranges. In 'Selections'!B5 is this formula to get the price per sheet:

Thumbs up Re: How to get a third dependent drop down list to work?

Thank you, you have nailed it! You were totally right, the drop downs arent dependant (my mistake it was the result which was dependant).

Time for me to get educated on the CountA, Vlookup and Match functions

    Thanks again
