Changing the dots on a line graph in Excel 2010 to have less points

Does anyone know how to direct me on this?

I make a graph, a simply one - say 4 series (x&y) linear, line graph,
but i get several data points, i want to have far less data points, but i dont want to shrink my x-axis which is like the time.

    Please suggest.

    Thanks!

Re: Changing the dots on a line graph in Excel 2010 to have less points

    Why?

I mean: are you (1) trying to make it look better, or (2) trying to simplify the data going into the chart?

If it's (1), then my first thought would be to make it a line series without markers.

If it's (2), then... probably I'd strip out every 10th data point and graph that instead, or something like that. There's not really a super-clear-cut solution.

At either rate, can you upload a copy of the spreadsheet you're working with? It's much easier to directly work with your problem, as opposed to working with made-up data based on your description of the problem.
