Y axis issues for line graph - Excel 2010

    Hi,

I'm new to this so please forgive me if I'm posting in the wrong place.

I have a table that I want to convert into a line graph, it's current format is months across the top row, and names down the first left hand column, with cells containing one of 4 possible text values.

I'm trying to convert this to a line chart, with the four possible text values on the y-axis, and the months across the x-axis, with the plotted line showing the name of the person, but I absolutely can't find any way to do this after hours spent trawling the internet. I'm by no means unfamiliar with Excel, and can for the most part work things out with a little perserverance, but this has me totally stumped.

I'm sorrry if this makes no sense/is in wrong place/unclear - if so please let me know, and apologies in advance.

    Thank you very much

The Y axis requires numerical values. You could perhaps code your data with 1 through 4 for the possible values. Then you'll have to fake the labels on the Y axis scale.
