    Unwanted Conditional Formatting

I have conditional formatting showing up that I don't want. I can use clear because I have "wanted" formatting in the same cells. When I use "manage rules" I don't see the unwanted formatting rules. Looked under selected cells as well as current worksheet.

could you attach a sample of your worksheet? Is this any VBA code in it?

    Or possibly a custom format?

    Re: Unwanted Conditional Formatting

I don't know. If there is a custom format for these cells - how can I see that? Manage rules under conditional formatting is not showing it. The cell turns a horrible bright green when data is entered into another cell.

    Re: Unwanted Conditional Formatting

You didn't initially say what the unwanted formatting was. Now that you have said it is green fill you can rule out custom format. If there is nothing under CF for that particular cell then I would say rvasquez's suggestion regarding VBA is the culprit.

    Re: Unwanted Conditional Formatting

Look for a Worksheet Change macro by right clicking the sheet tab and choosing View Code.

    Re: Unwanted Conditional Formatting

OK Did that. There was no code.
I feel like this conditional formatting came from a sheet that I deleted. It is gone - but in the formatting rules and in the View Code - it is still showing up.

    Re: Unwanted Conditional Formatting

Are you able to attach the file? (with all personal stuff removed, of course)

    Re: Unwanted Conditional Formatting

If you do a CTRL+G, Special Cells, then select Conditional Formatting, OK... it will show if any cells in the sheet carry conditional formatting.
Where there is a will there are many ways.
