Exclamation how do I remove all information after the word Appt in a cell?

I am cleaning up a document where each cell has an address and at the end there is either Appt, Appt ##, Appt ### or Appt ####

(# indicates a 2 3 or 4 digit number) I need to remove Appt and the following numbers that proceed it.. Is there an easy code for this?

    melly,

    Welcome to the forum!
Isn't "Appt" short for appointment? I would think "Apt" is for apartment

Regarding your question, assuming the addresses are in column A, use this formula in B1 and copy down:

    Try this:

if A2 is where the address is:

Tiger beat me to it, but I don't think you need the TRIM part in the formula.
    Happy Excel'ing!

It's true that the Trim may be unnecessary, but if Appt comes after a space, the Trim will remove that trailing space. Visually there wouldn't be any difference though.

Thanks sooo much for your help!!! appt does mean appointment and apt is apartment and I deleted the incorrect rows (thinking appt was an error in typing apt.) soo I needed to remove the Appt 1234 at the end... 3000+ entries to delete manually would have been painful.

il be posting another good one in a minute!
