Go to the view tab, click the Switch Windows button, and it should display all open workbooks.

On the menu bar, choose View. Then, on the ribbon, choose Switch Windows.

It's quite possible you've just minimised the window and there will be a little grey tab/box at the bottom of the "grey" window.

Is there another way to get it back? I tried every thing [which isn"t much] but i still have a gray screen.

Well, if you can't switch to it, and it's not minimised, I guess you've closed it. Did you get an option to save it? If not, it probably means you hadn't made any changes since you last saved it, which is good.

So, try and open it again. Go to the Open File menu/option and see if it's listed as a Recent file.

OK. I tried all of your suggestions, but the screen is still gray.I guess i deleted it. I have a copy of the spreadsheet without the recent changes. Can i scan them and move them into a new window?

So, the original file isn't on your hard disc somewhere? Where you originally opened it from?

Can you search your hard disc for file names the same or similar to the original file?

Does that mean a paper copy?

Can i scan them and move them into a new window?
I have no idea what that means.

If you have a paper copy, and a scanner with OCR capability, I guess, yes.

Personally, I'd be looking for an electronic copy somewhere on your hard disc. Do you save copies or backups of any of your work?
