Excel 2007 : Compare text from one column to another and highlight differences

Hello!

Help please, is there a way to compare data (string and values combined) from column A to column B and show the difference in column C?

The best I can do for you is to tell you if they are the same or different.

Put this in C3 and copy it down.

=IF(A3=B3,"Same", "Difference")

Maybe someone else will have a better solution for you.

Thanks for your advice, appreciate it a lot. However everything in C3 will reflect "Different", thus I have to identify the differences.

Hello Rianne, i found a macro will highlight the "cell" not the words inside the cell, if different from it's counter part..

it could help you identify the cells that are not the same..
