    Re: Help with formula!

    Good day,

    Yours seems to be more of an arithmetic problem. Nonetheless, here you go.

    A car at full capacity would run for (18*12) = 216 miles
    Of this it has driven 23 miles so it can run for another 216-23=193 miles
    hence it still has 89.3519% i.e. 193/216 capacity unutilised
    In gallon terms this translates to 18*89.3519% = 16.08333 gallons

    \In excel terms the formula is =((18*12)-23)/(18*12)*18

    Click on star if your problem is solved!!

    Maybe like this

    A2 = 18

    B2=12

    c2=23

    D2=A2-C2/B2

    How about editing your thread title to comply with the forum rules.

    Rule #1

    Use concise, accurate thread titles. Your post title should describe your problem, not your anticipated solution. Use terms appropriate to a Google search. Poor thread titles, like Please Help, Urgent, Need Help, Formula Problem, Code Problem, and Need Advice will be addressed according to the OP's experience in the forum: If you have less than 10 posts, expect (and respond to) a request to change your thread title. If you have 10 or more posts, expect your post to be locked, so you can start a new thread with an appropriate title.

    To change the title of the thread, click EDIT on the original post, then click the Go Advanced button, then change the title. If two or more days have passed, the EDIT button will not appear, and you need to ask a moderator to change the title.

    This is an Excel *HELP* forum. Asking for help with a formula is stating the obvious.
