DATE FORMAT CELL - insert the leading 0

    Hi,

when I import data from my Goldmine CRM the date format is all wrong.

It enters the date into excel as 6/15/2012 but I want it to be 15/06/2012.

I realise that it is M/DD/YYYY but I want it to be DD/MM/YY

    Can anyone please help.

    Mark

Is the data actually entered in a date format?
If so, right click the cell/range and change the date format to dd/mm/yy

If not, then create a column next to the import with this:
    =DATEVALUE(MID(A2,4,2)&"/"&LEFT(A2,2)&"/"&RIGHT(A2,4))

    If it's text values then:
    Select the range of cells
    Data - Text to Columns
    Next
    Next
choose Date and MDY in the drop box
    Finish

Now format the range as dd/mm/yy
