Isolate rows based on first column

Hi all,

Long time since I've been on here! I am currently working on a project. Apologies for not providing much information but due to the nature of the project i can't disclose everything. There are over 10,000 records in this worksheet! There are also > 90 columns of data for each entry.

The first colum is an ID number - there can be multiple rows of information for each ID number (i.e. the same number can appear 2-4 times).

I have isolated a list of ID numbers I am interested in - these have been copied to another sheet for ease of use.

I wish to isolate all rows of data associated with these ID numbers - i.e. have all rows for the first ID number in my series, followed by the second number in my list and so on - and essentially ignoring the entries that I do not want.

I'm not sure if I have explained this wll at all so have included an example workbook - I want to copy all rows of data corresponding to the ID numbers on sheet 2.

Thanks for all the help in advance!
J

this sounds like a perfect fit for a filter? you can go into the filter, deselect everything and then only select what you want to show
1. Use code tags for VBA.
Your Code
(or use the # button)
2. If your question is resolved, mark it SOLVED using the thread tools
3. Click on the star if you think someone helped you

Thanks for getting back to me so quickly!

I hadn't even though of filters! Forgot that function even existed!

Is there a way to automatically filter from the list on sheet 2 rather than go through and select them manually?

Thanks again for all your help,
J

Hi Justin,

Attached is with 1/1 helper column/row to avoid repeated calculation. A4 to down is Array Formula, so must be confirmed with CTRL+SHIFT+ENTER,

Used dynamic range for data & study numbers, so whenever add/delete data will update it. Copy down the formula as needed.

Hope this helps.
