    Expanding/Collapsing Menus

Is there any way to create an expanding/collapsing menu in Excel.

I thought of two approaches (please see the attached sheet):

    1. Expanding through grouping - this has the disadvantage of collapsing/expanding any graphics contained within the same row range
    2. Slide out - this is possible a better option

If I adopted option 1, how can I expand/collapse specified groups by clicking in the relevant cell?

If I adopted option 2, how can I click in an 'Option' cell so that in turn highights the 'Sub Option' cells and then when the next 'Option' cell is clicked in, it hides the first set of Sub Option cells and highlights the next set. Is it possible to achieve this through conditional formating or would it require some VBA?
