    Merge problem

    Hello Seniors,
I have a image that I copy from the internet that has numbers and text. When I copy that into my excel sheet some rows and columns get merged automatically. I do not want to have that feature, how can I stop auto adjustment and merging of the cells.

Nce its an image, try saving it in paint first and then use insert picture?
    Or try via word first

    Re: Merge problem

Thanks for the prompt reply. Those numbers get inserted in the rows and I do some calculation based on it. So, I don't want to use the image but the numbers in it which I am getting. Numbers are working perfectly but then there are some rows that are merged automatically which I do not want.

In that case paste it into a different sheet, then repaste into the place you want selecting text only

Yup but that will be too tedious. Is there a workaround so that if I copy that into my worksheet without merging the cells.

After you paste, you should see a pop-up that looks like a clipboard. Click that, and tick Match destination formatting.

If you don't see it, Excel Options > Advanced > Cut, Copy and Paste, tick Show Paste Options button
