    Pivot Tables

I have a table with a column of users and a column of the groups they are in. I need to pivot the table to display the user once and then have the groups they are in display in the next column in the same row.

    ex.

    Alex Group1
    Abe Group2
    Mark Group 3
    Alex Group 3
    Alex Group 4

    Needs to be
    Alex Group1 Group 3 Group 4
    Abe Group2
    Mark Group3

    Re: Pivot Tables

    Barboa,

Select the full range of data, then on the insert tab select pivot table. Click OK to create it.

Now your row label needs to be name and then Group. The Values should be "Count" of groups.

If this is not clear post some example data which will be easier to demonstrate.

    Dave,
I attached a sample file, I understand what you are doing but I do not want the count, I want the names of the group displayed in the next column.
    Thanks

Please see attached, The count column does not really need to be added if you just want to know the names of the groups a person is listed against.

    Re: Pivot Tables

I understand that, but what I need is for them to be in the columns. I have gotten that far already but I need them in columns to be complete. Thanks for the help.

    Morning Barboa,

Your thread is marked solved so not sure if you worked it out! Please see attached and see if it's closer to what you were after, to be honest I don't see another solution without code.
