How to convert hours & minutes to minutes

If I have 1:50 (cell format [H]:MM) in cell A1 could anyone help with a formula that would convert cell B1 into the number of minutes in the 1 hr 50 mins please

This should do it, format as General:

depends on the desired output format, either

=A1 format as [m] (returns 110 minutes as a time value, i.e. 0.08 days).

or

=A1*1440 format as general / number (returns 110 as an integer not as a time value).
