    Linked cells in Excel

    Hello

I have linked a lot of cells between two worksheets in an excel document. However it is becoming apparent that some of the cells in the second sheet are changing (i.e. whilst originally linked to cell B33 in sheet 1 it is now linked to B35 in sheet 1). Can anyone explain why this is happening? The only thing I can think of is that someone is copying and pasting away in the original and this is effecting the second sheet.

    I'd really appreciate any help!

    Many thanks

    Jenny

Or it could be that the users have inserted rows in the first workbook, so the formula that was looking at B33 would now look at B35. You can use INDIRECT to make the formula resilient to insertions and deletions, like this:

    =INDIRECT("'Sheet1'!B33")

    Hope this helps.
