Link Multiple Cell Values Together To Entry In Any Of Them

Hello,

I'm not sure if this is possible to do in Excel, but I'll describe what I'm trying to do.

I have 4 separate cells that each link to a Data Validation list so that each cell can select items from that list. However, I want it such that if you select a value in one of the 4 cells, then all 4 display that value. The problem here is that I can't put a formula into the 4 cells since these cells are what contain the item you select from the list.

I hope I explained well enough what I'm trying to do. Also, I can't have any macros in this book, so I'm hoping for a solution that does not involve macros.

You are trying to change the validation to the validated. Perhaps a sample worksheet will explain this better?

Ok here is a sample sheet that I've attached.

Column E has 4 cells from which you can select an item from the list in Column I. I want to be able to select any of the list values in one of the 4 cells in Column E and have all 4 cells automatically update to contain the same value.

Sorry, I think you misunderstood what it is I'm trying to do.

You are trying to interchange between a formula and a hard-coded dropdown value. Cannot switch between the two without VBA

That is what I suspected. I was hoping there was a way though without VBA. Oh well, thanks for your help!
