I upgraded to excel 2010 a few months ago at work. While some things were faster, there were several things that were slower than working in 2003 (certain Macros, working with multiple sheets, etc...). It looks like some of the problems (like the macros) were an issue with the computer. I just got a new CPU so as expected, a lot of the issues have corrected themselves. The one problem I am still seeing that I can't explain is the slowness when working with multiple sheets.
I have a lot of files that have 140 nearly identical tabs. Often times I will group the tabs together and make changes to the header or a column or something. In excel 2003, I would certainly have to wait for the updates to be made to all sheets, but usually only for 10 seconds or so. With 2010 it is 2-3 times that long. Anyone able to shed any light as to what could be causing this? Is there a setting I can try changing to speed this up? You would think with it using 2 processors (which are both active) it should be faster.
Thanks in advance for any help you may have!
