    Regroup

    Hi,

I have in (A1:A25) 25 names of 25 different persons and in (C1:C50) 50 names of 50 different persons.

With which formula could I regroup all those persons, without duplicate, in column E knowing that some persons may appear in A and C and some other persons appear either in A or C

    Many thanks

    Hi akalein,

I'd put the entire list in a new column. That is I'd copy the list in column A to Column E and then copy the list in Col C under the list in Col E. Then I'd do an Advanced Filter with the Unique box checked.
see http://www.contextures.com/xladvfilter01.html for what I'm thinking.

..Or put all your Names in Column A(Starting in A2)--NOt in A1 and use this Array formula in D2 and copy down.

    =IF(ISERROR(INDEX($A$2:$A$100;MATCH(0;COUNTIF($B$1:B1;$A$2:$A$100);0)));"";INDEX($A$2:$A$100;MATCH(0;COUNTIF($B$1:B1;$A$2:$A$100);0)))

Change the semi-colons to comma and use iferror instead of IF(ISERROR...

With Excel 2010, he can use Remove Duplicates (data tab) once he has moved all the names to column E
