Excel has recovered the following files

    Hi
    Excel 2007

I loaded up the speadsheet and was amazed what came up when excell loaded
excell has recovered the following files. save the ones that you want to keep
Just cannot select or do anything
also at the top I get
macros must be enabled . "they are enabled"
    Then excel crashes
I can put the spreadsheet in my other computer and they work fine with no problem
I have uninstalled office then re installed it just the same
    checked for virus none
    I'm stuck what to do
Have you come across this before
all the spreadsheets are fine nothing wrong with them

    Thank you

Re: Excel has recovered the following files

This is an indication that Excel crashed or was terminated. Some examples of what can cause this: Excel encounters an internal fatal error and shuts down, you kill the process with Task Manager, or you shut down the computer while Excel is still running.

The list of files are recovery files that Excel maintains of unsaved open files to minimize the loss of work when this happens. You can open the recovery file, which will have some/most/all of the changes you've made since the last time the file was saved.

However, it does not make sense to me that you are unable to select any of them. What is the last action you before the crash?

There are a couple of things that could cause the prompt about macros, but I would have to know all of the details about your security settings, and also information about the file. Was the message specific about what file with macros it is referring to?

Are you saying that you reinstalled Office and this problem still occurs?

    Hi Jeff
Thank you for getting back to me

Nope nothing like that all . the last time I used the S/S I just clicked the save and shut down .

Yes I can select them with the drop down arrow BUT if i do the Excel crashes.

What is the last action you before the crash
Just loaded the spreed sheet put in a number and saved it

Are you saying that you reinstalled Office and this problem still occurs
Yes that is correct in fact 3 times and cleared all ref to it.

    The Spreadsheet is NOT FAULTY
As I say I can take them to my other computer and load them into excell and ALL RUN FINE with not problem
So why do they not work on this computer ant say they are faulty?
