Question Lock excel in the right way.

    Hello all....

I made a nice Excel which is used for employees to write the time they worked...

    I got 20 employees.

Its very simple, but works well.

BUT. They tend to keep ruin something.... Now someone removed 20 lines, and some days ago someone removed the color in some of the blocks.

This is something they dont do on purpose....

Is there some way to lock it, so they can still use the Excel but cant change color, remove lines or change the math i added in the blocks?

I can only make it lock everything. Which makes the idea of locking wierd.

Without seeing the worksheet it's difficult to comment, but would it work if you just go into 'format' and unprotect the cells they need to complete and protect all the rest of them.

For the cells you want the user to actually access, unlock only those cells.

Select the cells to unlock >> Right click Cell or Cells >> Format Cells >> Protection Tab >> Uncheck Locked

Now lock the sheet and the user will now only have access to the cells you unlocked.

When you protect the sheet you will get an input box to enter the formula, but also, some checkboxes for any options you may or may not want to use.

    Thx Jeff it worked....

But its all a little mixed up, i think....

You have to go remove the option of cells to be locked under "locked cells". This means "locked cells" is only a catagory, not really locked.

THEN, you neda go protect sheet and tell the protection that it shouldent lock "unlocked cells" :P

I get it now, but its trolololo.
