    How to set amount format in a pivot to sum by default

    Whenever I create a pivot and drag the Amount field, by default, it always shows the value as count and manually have to change it to sum.. every time, which is very annoying. Is there any way to set it to default to sum value? Thanks.

    hi mcmuney. that is probably because the column for the amount has blanks or non-values. if you really need that badly, you can consider macros or some add-in
