    Deleting Duplicate Values

    Hello,

I have a mail list with 5 different columns; First name, last name, street address, city, state, and zip.

What i want to do is delete the duplicate values (like husband and wives). I don't want to send the same mail to the same house.

Ive tried using the "delete duplicate values" function but the First name messes it up and and if i just focus on the Street address and city it moves it up mixing the data.

I used to sort everything then use the highlight duplicate values tool and delete one row at a time manually but i figured there should be a better way.

    Any thoughts?
    Thanks

    Hi epreuss,

    Welcome to the forum.

You can concatenate the fields last name with street address or with city or zip and then you use countif function to identify duplicates and then you can delete all at once. thanks.

    Re: Deleting Duplicate Values

    Okay epreuss,

Go to Excel help or press F1 key and when window appears, type Countif Function and see the explanation for this. Alternatively, you can go to uTube and see the video tutorial for Countif function.

In case of any issue, upload the sample workbook . Thanks.
