Use index to match two values where there are multiple values, return the highest

    Hi,

Please see attached my example - I would like to match two unique references and where there are multiple possible results I would like to return the highest value

The attempt I have made in the example almost works but fails when I copy it down to the next value.

    Thanks in advanceEXAMPLE MG.xlsx

    Try:

    =MAX(IF(Goals!$C$4:$C$10=C4,Goals!$D$4:$D$10))

confirmed with CTRL+SHIFT+ENTER not just ENTER and copied down

    is that what you need?
