Hi everyone,
I am rather new to Excel and have been tasked to work with a huge spreadsheet with over 80,000 entries. These represent a panel structure of listed firm top 10 shareholders in China for years 2002-2009. I have sorted the shareholders by ownership type manually. Now I need to add their ownership percentages based on their category. On the spreadsheet, I have lined up the years so that every 10 rows (each row has the name of a shareholder) represents one year so 80 entries represents 8 years from 2002-2009.
However now, I need to add the percentages by ownership category for every 10 rows. I believe DSUM is used to add up numbers by categories but I am not sure how to make it sum up the categories every 10 rows so the only thing I could think of was to do it manually. Yet, there must be an easier way like pivot tables or something. If you can let me know I would be most appreciative! I have about 80,000 rows to add up so its a lot of work. I have attached a sample of the file for your reference.
Thank you so much!!
