    Question Graph for measurements?

    Hello

My granddad measured the heights of me and all my nephews, starting from year one to year 18, and wrote everything down. Sometimes he forgot to measure a nephew a year, but the overall notes look like this:
    NEPHEW 1
    29-10-1996 :87,5
    12-07-1997: 93,3
    07-08-1998: 101,0
    02-08-1999: 109,1
    ...

Now he would like me to put all these data into a line graph, so that you can see easily when we started growing, when we slowed down, ...
Can you guys please give me good advice on how it would be best to put all these measurements into graphs?
(NOTE 1: Some years are missing, and I have no idea how I would just be able to let the graph follow his path. When you just skip the year in your cells, the graph skips it also, and isn't correct. When you would put a zero next to the year, the graph would go down, so how could you solve this?)

(NOTE 2: The heights aren't always from the same period in the year (January, sometimes June, ...) How would the best way be to still have a right graph?

Tx in Advance (btw; if you say it can't be done in excel, that I'll need third party software for it, name it please)

the specifics of a solution will depend on the exact layout of your data. It's also not clear to me if you want height as a function of calendar data or height as a function of age. In either case, a simple XY scatter plot in Excel should be able to show what you are after.

If you want height vs. age, you will need to add a column that calculates the age from the given date and the person's birthdate.

As for dealing with blank cells, again, it depends on the exact layout. You can either delete those entries, or check the chart options for how you want Excel to handle blanks. I expect you will want to interpolate for blanks, where the current setting is probably to skip.

I would take the average height between the years where the measurements missing and use that number
I have mada a quick example, but just used the YEAR, not each day.
