    Highlight multiple text

I am looking for a way to highlight multiple text (500 keywords) without having to enter each into conditional formatting/highlight cell rules/ text that contain... Does anyone have a way to simply this? I have searched the threads and I may not be asking the question correctly, or it may not have been answered. Problem: I have a worksheet that contains 50+ rows and 30,000+ rows of data. I would like to see if the spread sheet contains any of my keywords. When I try to enter multiple words in the conditional formatting it gives me an error. Thanks in advance for any help!

CSE, aka Array aka { }, formulae are confirmed with CONTROL+SHIFT+ENTER.
Replace commas ( , ) with semicolons ( ; ) in formulae, if your locale setting demands.
All good ideas are courtesy resources from this forum as well as others around the web.

    Re: Highlight multiple text

Unfortunately, I do not have a file I can share. I want to do the same thing conditional formatting/highlight cell rule/ text that contain… will do for single text, but for multiple keywords.

---------- Post added at 09:02 PM ---------- Previous post was at 07:19 PM ----------

Okay, for sake of illustration. Suppose I have names in column A (say 500 different names), and Addresses in column B (say 30,000). I want to highlight all the names from column A in Column B without having to do a text highlight from conditional formatting on each name. Is there a way to select all 500 names from column A and somehow highlight each cell in the column B that contains those names?

Forgive me, but I am not familiar with Macros. How would I go about entering the data set from column A? A thorough description would be greatly appreciated!

    hi runnit,

see if the attached works for you.

you will get quicker responses if you provide sample data in Excel Spreadsheet format (pictures are frowned upon, because people have to recreate data by looking at the picture).

This works great! It would be nice if the highlighted text was in the other column, but for my purposes I think it will do just fine. Thank you.

This script works very well for my needs - except it also affects the first 11 characters of the cell. My array is

This isn't a show-stopper for my needs, but I'd like to get that resolved so that only the array keywords are red rather than the keywords and the leading characters of the cell

EDIT: Nevermind, i found the thread where I was doing the same thing and got a perfect solution:

I can drop in whatever keywords into the search array and have them come back with the appropriate highlighting.
