    Taking the average of a range of cells, even if a cell in range contains string

    Hello!

    I want to take the average of a row of cells (E7 to E10 at this point) but there's a possibility that the cell contains the string "N/A". Is there a way to do this? I'm finding ways to make N/A count as zero but no way to have it ignored.

    For some reason, the first time I tried AVERAGE(), it returned an error. I tried it again and it ignored the strings (worked). Sorry for the confusion.

    You may want to check that with #N/A, in the meantime try the array formula:
