Linking merged cells on Page 1 to header box(es)

    Simply, multi-page dealer order form.

On page 1, cells 6a-f are merged to provide length for dealer to enter their name. I'd like that "name" to appear in one of the header boxes on all pages. Easier to keep track of that way.

I know how to create headers and sequential page numbers in the various header boxes, etc. But how do I get any of the header boxes to pick up the data that's in 6a-f on Page 1?

    Thank you in advance.

Cells A6:F6 which are merged are considered just A6. Type =A6 into any other cell to have it display the date from A6:F6

I tried that. Typed =A6 into the center box on the custom header, and it just printed =A6 at the top of each page. Maybe I didn't explain it well enough.

The first page of a multi-page order form has A6:F6 merged in order to create a length for the customer to enter their name. Hypothetically, let's say the customer enters "Joe's Grocery". Since this is a multi-page order form, I'd like "Joe's Grocery" to appear at the top of each page on that order form. That way, if we get a half-dozen multi-page orders faxed in overnight, and the receiving tray overflows (not that the receiving tray is the issue, but that's another story), we can keep the pages on the order from Joe's Grocery properly collated and separate from the pages on the orders from Wally's Grocery or Fred's Grocery, etc., since this way each page of each order will have an identifier at the top.

    Thank you.

Again, I'm just trying to get what a customer enters on a first-page cell to appear in the header.

Headers and footers cannot accommodate functions.

However, you may want to take a look at this: In Print Setup, go to the Sheet tab, and select "Rows to Repeat at Top".

This will print the chosen row at the top of every page.

Not that it will print the full row, so don't put any other fields there.

I'm not exactly sure where the menu is on a Mac.

Thanks, Ben. I was looking at that and wondering if that was going to be my only solution.

Unless you ant to incorporate VBA, I think that's the best way.
