    csv to xls file

At first look it seems that its a very easy problem. Because i myself was able to look for a lot of procedures online how to do it. Unfortunately, it didnt change its format. I have this file in csv file. All the data are compressed in a single cell like for example date, name, age address, bday etc...all these are in A1. Whenever i export it as instructed on how to change csv to excel, nothing happens. All data are still in A1, and not distributed into several cells

    Pls help

Unhappy Re: csv to xls file

@ ammo just tried it but the result is still the same...same with DATA>>FROM TEXT....

here is the sample of the header which is in A1

    Transaction type;"Transaction ID";"Customer ID";"Site ID";"Product ID";"Customer name";"Customer e-mail";"Customer IP";Date;Amount;CS1;CS2;CS3;"Customer

so in A2 it shows the
    onetime;57451018;002237-100000081;002237-0001;002237-0001-0001;"MARK TANGO";[email protected];116.93.39.42;"07/03/2012 15:11:11";1283.00;[email protected];"MARK TANGO";002237-0001-0001;;;CARD;;"Batch successfully completed";BSC;411111XXXXXXxxxx;532581;;128300;;royalbatch

what I want to happen is to separate all this data into different columns

Transaction Type Transaction ID Customer ID
one time 57451018 002237-100000081 and so on....

    Re: csv to xls file

Are you splitting your data based on "" or on ; ?
