    Partial Data Extraction

    Hi,

    I have cells that have a 3 or 4 digit number followed by a word(s) ie. 1234 HELP ME
    I need:

    a formula to put the numbers in a column
    a formula for the word(s) in the other column.

    Can you help me?

    1) =LOOKUP(9^9,--LEFT(A2,COLUMN($1:$1)))

    2) =TRIM(MID(A2,LEN(LOOKUP(9^9,LEFT(A2,COLUMN(2:2))*1))+1,2^15))

    Or Excel 2007 => text to column

    since its always 3 or 4 digits

    b1=LEFT(A1,4)+0
    c1=MID(A1,FIND(" ",A1)+1,255)
