Weird Filepath Behaviour

    Hi,

    I am experiencing some filepath behaviour which is new to me and I wondered if anyone had any ideas.

    I have a links to several files and the filepath is j:\weeklysales\dc\2012\Aug 08\summary 060812.xls

    So I have the file open and the filepath is as above.

    I save the file and no change.

    I close the file and re-open it and the filepath has been extended to

    //Manchester\data\e\j:\weeklysales\dc\2012\Aug 08\summary 060812.xls

    As as result some of the link are lost.

    Manchester is a location on the network and J:\ is within Manchester

    Any ideas anyone?

    Re: Weird Filepath Behaviour

    sounds like the "manchester" part is the host server, and the 1st rime you opened the file, there was already a link to it, while, when you opened it the 2nd time, that link was closed/lost and needed to opened/refreshed?

    I would suggest trying to put the full (new) path in your formulas (maybe using find/replace if there are lots of formulas) and see if that solves the problem? even if the link to manchest is already open, the redundant link to it should not matter
    1. Use code tags for VBA.
Your Code
(or use the # button)
