SUMIF or SUMPRODUCT Within a month

I am looking for a way to total the number of days people spent (L16) at our house (G3:G500) to a specific month (E3:E500) The month in this case is July. dd/mm/yyyy is the format

in L16
=SUMPRODUCT((MONTH(E3:E500)=7)*(G3:G500))

I used this formula; =SUMPRODUCT((MONTH(E3:E500)=1)*(G3:G500)) to count January. There were no stay during January but L10 is showing 467.
There were no stays in February and March and L11 and L12 both show zero as they should. April thru August are showing proper calculations. Why is January acting hinky?
