    Conditional Drop-Down Lists

    Hi there!

Wondering if it's possible to create drop-down lists that are available to use conditionally on a prior selection within another drop-down list in the worksheet. Here's what I'm working with:

    Budget

    1 - General
    1.2 - Sub Category
    1.3 - Sub Category
    1.4 - Sub Category

    2 - Materials
    2.1 - Sub Category
    2.2 - Sub Category

    etc, etc

With each line item (invoice, time spent, etc) for my expense report, I want to be able to associate it with its appropriate line item. So ideally, column A would be the item, column B would have a drop-down list of all category headers (General, Materials, etc), and column C would populate the appropriate drop-down list per its category. So, if I select General in the column B drop-down, column C would give me a drop-down list of the budget line items 1.2, 1.2, 1.3, etc.

Is this possible? If so, how can I make this happen?

    Thank you!

    Re: Conditional Drop-Down Lists

This helps me to create a drop-list but I don't see how it explains any communication between two drop-down lists. Is it possible to select from a drop down list in Column B and have a drop-down list in Column C populate according to the entry in Column B? [Category selection=Column B, Sub-Category Selection=Column C; C is provided conditionally on specific criteria in B]

Post a sample workbook showing what you need... the link showed how to do dependent lists based on selection made in one list to the other...
