Pages print blank (Excel 2004 Mac OS 2004)

    Hello friends.
I'm using Excel 2004 with Mac OS 10.4.11 Tiger on a 17" Powerbook G4 and Mac Mini G4. I'm facing a problem. Pages from certain workbooks print blank even though I've printed pages from these workbooks in the past with no problem until now. I can't remember anything I might have done to cause this problem. I've tried printing from other workbooks, some of which print and some of which don't. They don't use particularly complex functions, and in any event I've been using them for ages with no problem. I tried printing the same invoices from past years and the same problem results: a blank page.
I've printed documents in Word, text editors and other programs with no problem and confirmed that the problem is confined to Excel.
I used the "copy sheet" function to export a page from a non-printing workbook into a one that printed. No good. I tried exporting to a new workbook. No good either.
However, I dragged the mouse over the cells of a worksheet that wouldn't print and copied them through the clipboard into a newly created workbook: that printed fine.
I tried exporting (not cell-copy through the clipboard) the page from the new workbook I created back into the original dysfunctional workbook and it printed fine. So, the problem is not with the individual workbook file but with each page in each of these workbooks. Also, going through the clipboard seemed to solve the problem.
I tried deleting all Excel and even Office preferences to no avail. I tried switching to my backup computer, a 1.5GHz Mac Mini G4, again to no avail.
