    Double Protect a sheet

Is there a way to double protect an excel sheet, or portions of a sheet. Basically, have two layers of protection using a macro for the first Layer and the second layer being the normal way of protecting a sheet.
For example of protecting a portion of a sheet:
Column A is protected (locked) with a macro that makes it ALWAYS protected unless the macro is disabled or deleted.
Column B is protected the conventional way where you go to options and protect the sheet. this is where an admin person can unprotect the column with a password, however, column A remains protected, (or locked).
The other columns does not require protecting.

    Thanks for you assistance.
