    Bring text to front . . .

Hi, I have a small problem which I need help.

I made a workbook for my pool league. There is a list of players. That list of players shows with the cell borders coloured . . .

My problem is that a lot of players asked me to make the font larger because they cannot read the names easily. Beats me as they can be so good at pool and not be able to read size 14 font . . .

The cell borders are formatted in a dirty orange and the text is Black.

The problem is that if I enlarge the font part of the writings are hidden behind the orange cell borders.

i.e. if the Player's name is Marty, be bottom part of the " y " is hidden by the cell border in orange.

Is there a way to send the cell formatting to rear and bring text to front so it is not hidden ?

    That would be great.

    Mike.

Not that I am aware of.

Maybe you could format the sheet as Landscape rather than Portrait and widen the columns?

Re: Bring text to front . . .

Sorry I did not include more info . . .

I'm already in landscape 8½ by 14½ two sided printing.

I'm using the max printable area, I have 25 names in the list plus the header.

Enlarging the cell size is not really viable . . .

Now if the cell contents were not restrained by the cell borders like a table in word per example, it would be a simple matter to select the text and bring to front but in excel, I'm at a disadvantage as I'm nowhere near good at it.

I suspect the problem is not just about the cell borders. If the content of a cell is too big for the current cell it will overflow into the next cell unless that cell has something in it.

As far as I know there is no "bring to font" text format.

To bring the text to the front, simply highlight the cell that is hiding your words, then right-click and "Clear Contents". The text will then display across all fields.
