Hi,
I've been making a document that has several different cell groups with various conditional formatting rules. It's not just a rectangle, some are column formatting conditions, some are single cell. Some cells have multiple. This is not a case of just one range and a formula or two on top of it. What I would like to do is copy the entire block of cells roughly (20c x 40r) and paste it right next to it, as I want to be able to enter the data more than once (it's a data entry form per project) and scroll. I'm using excel 2007.
I have tried a few ways that did not work. The formulas/formatting copies, but not the conditional formatting.
1. Copy and paste
2. Create a copy of the tab, and from that tab copy and paste the cells (When the copy is created, the conditional formatting is lost)
3. Save the file as a different name, open both, and paste the table from one file to another
I think part of the problem could be $ in either the formula definitions or the range applied. I have been able to remove them from the formulas, but that did not fix the problem alone. However, no matter how I write the range, it always saves it locked in both ways (i.e. $B$4 instead of B4)
Any advice would be greatly appreciate. I can sanitize the document and upload it if need be.
