    Thanks a lot Dilip, Sunil and Kylie. The data I had submitted earlier was a miniature version of the huge file I was working on. I am still not there yet.

    I have attached another version. If you could have a look and kindly advise. Thanks in advnace for your valuable time and effort

    Re: Vlookup with drop down functionality

    Hi there,

    Did you had a look into my excel workbook posted in post#5 ?
    If you arrange your data there and correct the references, that will work easily.
    Also, suggest you to follow the data validation as I shown in my workbook. Thanks.

    Regards,
    DILIPandey

    Re: Vlookup with drop down functionality

    Dilipandey, why use an array formula when a regular one would do?

    Re: Vlookup with drop down functionality

    I've updated your workbook, note that in it I have used an offset function to make things easier to understand. Use the evaluate formula tool if you have trouble following the formulas, but a better version of the formula in C3 would be:
    Formula: copy to clipboard

    But that might take a bit of getting your head round since you're a beginner.

    Re: Vlookup with drop down functionality

    @Kyle123 ->

    I have used array support for matching two items using Match function like :- MATCH($A3&B$2,Actual!$A$1:$A$12&Actual!$B$1:$B$12,0)

    If I don't use array for them, it would not work.

    I liked your way of providing solution as well. Thanks for the heads - up though. Cheers
