    (ask) Vlookup to find max in table list.

    a 10
    a 20
    a 30
    b 15
    b 25
    b 35

    find max in list
    a = should be 30
    b = should be 35

    what is the vlookup formula ? thx

    use the below array formula:-

    {=LARGE(IF($A$1:$A$6=$D1,$B$1:$B$6,""),1)}

    i use excel 2002, download your file, convert it via zamzar.com (xls)
    a = 35
    b = #value!

    You need to enter formula using key combination Ctrl + Shift + Enter.... Thanks
