Plot two sets of Data into one chart

    Hi All,

This is probable an easy one to answer, but I can't for the life of me work it out!

I have two sets of data (2011 & 2012) each with 4 colums of information and I would like to put them both onto one scatter chart to show the difference between 2011 and 2012 information.

Can someone show me an idiot proof way of doing this please?

    Thanks

    E

Select the matrix of data: the column of x values, and both columns of y values. So you should have a selection like A2:C20 or so, where A2:A20 are the x-values and the B and C columns are the y values. Then, click insert: scatter plot.

By default, do not select the name labels at the top; having a text string in the values will force all three arrays into being y-values, leaving the count order as the implicit x value.

If you have the data spread out row-wise (eg, the x values are A2:T2, with y values in rows 3 and 4), then insert the scatter plot, but then right click the created plot, click "Select Data" from the dropdown, and then "switch rows and columns" from the popup.
