    transposing a link

When you copy a row of cells from one work book then go to another workbook, go to paste special, then select transpose, the past link option goes away.

Why is that and is their anyway around this problem.

I need to copy from a row and paste then link into a column a bunch of times.

    Any suggestion?

    Thanks

    Re: transposing a link

    Hi gocolonel,

I think the answer is - when you transpose a range of copied cells in a paste operation, it has notihng to do with linking anymore. A link is simply a pointer back to where you copied the cells from. Actually when you paste a link it simply puts a formula in the cells pointing back to the copied cells location.
One test is worth a thousand opinions.
