Question Questions on wildcard limitations and workarounds with the IF() conditional

Hi all, I'm aware of the fact that you can't do IF(A1="*BLAH*") in Excel. I was wondering what is the best (quickest in terms of speed) way to work around this limitation?

    Is it:

Or would using a COUNTIF() be faster? Is there a list somewhere of which functions are quicker than others?

    Thanks!

I don't know of such as list anywhere.. people test, and conclusion pop up randomly.

I think the Search would be faster than COUNTIF... but if you are looking at a single cell, then the difference is probably not to perceptible.
Where there is a will there are many ways.
