Selecting data from a specific range in one column and printing it in another column

    At the outset i have four columns : Name1,Name2,Salary & Result(output column)..

First 2 columns contain the name of employes whereas 3rd column contains details of their salary. Thus in 4th column i want to print the salary of the employes of first column by searching them in Column B i.e, Name2.

    Hello meetvivek72,

You could use this formula in D2, and copy it down.

    =IF(ISNA(INDEX($C$2:$C$10,MATCH(A2,$B$2:$B$10,0))=TRUE),"",INDEX($C$2:$C$10,MATCH(A2,$B$2:$B$10,0)))
    Hope that helps.

    @ meetvivek72

Based on your last post it seems that you are satisfied with the solution(s) you've received but you haven't marked your thread as SOLVED. I'll do that for you now but please keep in mind for your future threads that Rule #9 requires you to do that yourself. If your problem has not been solved you can use Thread Tools (located above your first post) and choose "Mark this thread as unsolved".
    Thanks.

    @ Cutter,

Thank you Cutter. You seem to be very busy alerting OP's to mark their Threads as Solved! And to top it all, you still find time to help other "struglings" like myself. LOL

    @ Cutter,

Surprise! Then you, and all the other esteemed Forum gurus have not really seen, or heard of all my issues as yet. Bide with me, and you all will go begging for a holiday sooner than deserved, but imposed!!!
