make calculations to current cell

Hi!

I want to make a calculation to the cell i put a value in. So if i put a value in one cell, say A2, i want som calculation do be done with that value and then A2 will show a new value. Down below an example with cell A2.

=a1-a2

When i do this i get an errormessage that this is a circular reference. I have then tried to make just 1 iteration for formulas to solve this but when i put a value to A2 the formula dissapears.

So how do i do to solve this?

Hi Tomas,

Welcome to the forum.
Either you can put formula in cell A2 OR you can put a value in cell A2.. not both
Alternatively, you can put a formula in B3 as :-
=A2-A1
