Not enough system resources to display completely

Hello..
I'm running excel 2010 on W7 with 4Gig ram & get the above message whenever I use dropdown lists. I've Googled & found no solution for it. I can't install the hotfix, as it says it's already installed. It's supposed to have been fixed in 2000 according to the MS website http://support.microsoft.com/kb/183503
Has anyone found a solution?

I found the cause for my problem. Don't have a macro & data validation associated with the same cell. Instantly fixed the problem & has been fine for the last day or so.
